Pissodes strobi often referred to as spruce weevil or pine weevil is a beetle that will kill your trees. It lays its eggs in the tree and the offspring feed on the tree killing it. But there is still hope for your trees!
The tree generally dies from the top down. By pruning out the dead top and removing all the material, you are able to remove the beetle and offspring so the rest of your tree may live!
